No More Rock Stars

Hi

So I haven't been updating as much as I should have over the past few months.  Mostly because of my shift focus my exhibition at the start of the year No More Rock Stars.  The show was a huge success, It even got a great review in the galleristny which is linked below.  I have had bad luck with press as some of you out in the world are aware of so I was truly grateful to this year starting off well.

Fred Wilson on 20th st

The art world is a better place because of Fred Wilson. Very few have had the impact he has.  I
was grateful he was willing to talk with me for a few moments.  His work has changed the way I
personally view art, I can honestly say not many other artists have done this, maybe a handful

Hirschhorn vs Sandy

If we could have read The Hirschhorn exhibition at Galdstone as foreshadowing for Sandy many galleries could have been saved.  I know I shouldn't joke but my neighborhood you know
Under the Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side is still in horrible shape and its March!

DC for the Swiss

It's fun getting to go into archives for work.  Reading notes between artists and collectors from back in the day.  I have really seen a ton of cool stuff in the Archives of American Art and at the Morgan library perhaps the best is a Telegram from Duchamp to Teeny Matisse.  In this pic I was headed back to the Airport in DC just leaving the Archives and this made me laugh.

literally hanging with Eric Yahnker

Eric is Rad this was taken while I hanging his G-String Theory.  You all know my love for String Theory and it relation to art...

Its fun to post about the Golden Unicorn

Today I had Dim Sum.  Normally this really doesn't matter but one of my early posts I talk about a night I ended up at The Golden Unicorn.  In the pic to the left was another strange night I ended up at a great place for dumplings. It was Christmas Season and I ended up at the Opening Ceremony Christmas Party.  It was strange but fun!

Moments when you step back in life

When I helped out at Alexander Grey Associates I got to help install and care for works in the Melvin Edwards exhibition.  I was in an empty space next door to the gallery cleaning the work.  It was in this moment when I realized It's crazy how lucky I am. Not everyone would feel that way, cleaning a metal sculpture with wd40 and rags alone in a 3000 square foot loft, but you can't argue that there was poetry in the moment.

Helping Adam Green

I was working at The Hole briefly
it was really a fantastic time. I know I'm not really hipster enough for that, but this was one of the best moments of my brief time... helping move work back after the Adam Green show.
